Owen Wilson caused a hotel evacuation in Miami early Wednesday morning when he and a blonde date smoked cigarettes at a bar on the property, video footage showed.
The incident occurred at the Tavern at Hotel Croydon where Wilson and his date began smoking cigarettes near the bathroom, setting off smoke alarms in the hotel, Page Six reported. As the alarm went off, Wilson’s date was dancing with him, and then they both slipped away from the hotel as guests began to emerge in their pajamas, the footage showed.
Wilson’s current film is “Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin,” an animated film that also features Kate Winslet, Gerard Butler, and Quvenzhane Wallis, Page Six reported.
Travel and Leisure speculated that Wilson might be banned from the hotel for the behavior.
Several other celebrities have been similarly banned from other hotels for bad behavior. John Travolta was banned from the spa at The Peninsula in New York City for unspecified “creepy” behavior, Travel and Leisure reported, and Paris Hilton was banned from the Wynn in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine there.
A few hotels embrace “bad boy” behavior, however, including the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. “We embrace the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll,” creative director Brandon Powers said, Travel and Leisure reported. “They can trash their room or even take a donkey up there, so long as we don’t have to clean up after it in the casino. It takes a lot for us to ask somebody to leave.”
Wilson has been recently photographed on Miami beaches showing off his newly buff, 49-year-old body.
