Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is torn between the desire to have another baby and the pain of a devastating miscarriage while pregnant with her third child.

Paltrow revealed the heartbreaking situation in an amazingly honest interview in the Daily Mail's Sunday magazine You.

“My children ask me to have a baby all the time,” said Paltrow, who has a daughter, Apple, 8, and son, Moses, 6, with hubby Chris Martin. “And you never know. I could squeeze one more in.”

“I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third,” she said in the interview. “I nearly died.”

Despite the life-threatening setback, Paltrow still thinks about granting her children their wish. Apple and Moses are longing for a younger brother or sister, but Paltrow remains concerned about having another baby at age 40. She admitted to conflicting feelings in the candid interview.

“So I am like, ‘Are we good here or should we go back and try again?’”

Paltrow didn’t say when the miscarriage occurred, but said she feels “broody” when seeing the joy of singer and friend Beyonce Knowles with beautiful baby daughter Blue Ivy. Beyonce also suffered a miscarriage before having her now 1-year-old daughter.

In the October 2012 issue of InStyle magazine, Paltrow confessed, “a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I’m old now!”

She said she may have “missed the window” at baby making, especially when she sees her growing son Moses.

Whatever Paltrow decides, she said she is happy with the strong support of husband Chris, frontman for Coldplay, and his loving concern for their children.

“Regardless of what happens in our marriage, I chose the best father,” she gushed, adding that “to know that you had kids with such a good man is a real weight off you.”

Besides an Academy Award in 1998 for Best Actress for her role in “Shakespeare in Love,” Paltrow's film credits include “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “Contagion” and the “Iron Man” film franchise.
