For years Paris Hilton has been harboring a deep, dark secret and now she is finally ready to open up about it. In an upcoming YouTube Originals documentary, "This Is Paris," the heiress will reveal a horrific experience that happened during her childhood.
For now, the details are a secret.
She also discusses the mental abuse she suffered as a teenager while attending boarding school in Utah. But the mysterious childhood trauma still gives her nightmares, Hilton explains in the project that delves into her life.
"No one really knows who I am," the star, whose great-grandfather founded Hilton Hotels, said in a sneak peek by People. "Something happened in my childhood that I've never talked about with anyone. I still have nightmares about it."
Hilton admits she is "very nervous" about finally revealing her secret.
"I'm shaking. It's hard to even eat, because my stomach is just like, turning. I don't know — it's something that's very personal, and not something I like talking about," she said.
"This Is Paris" will uncover the international icon's hidden past and confront the "heartbreaking trauma that forged who she is today," the production's description reads. The "deeply compelling portrait" will tell the story of a "teenage girl desperate to escape into a fantasy," it continues. Ultimately, the documentary will shed new light "on the insta-fame culture that Paris helped to create."
Earlier this year, in an interview with The Talk, Hilton recalled how self-revealing the process of filming was.
"I started thinking about my past and what I've been through and realized just how much it's affected my life and how I was holding on to so much trauma for so long," she said.
"I think when people see this film, they're really going to see a different side to me than they've ever seen before," Hilton continued. "Because I honestly didn't even know who I was up until this year. I really learned a lot about myself through this film."
The production, which is headed up by Emmy-winning director Alexandra Dean, will also feature Paris' sister, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, and their mother, Kathy Hilton.
