Patrick Stewart: First Pizza Slice At Age 72 (Photo)

Sir Patrick Stewart, at age 72, is breaking new ground: trying his first piece of pizza.

We won't say he's boldy gone where he's never gone before, but the famed "Star Trek: The Next Generation" captain tweeted a picture of himself, saying it's his 'first ever pizza slice.' He's even got it properly folded in true New York fashion,

While the knighted actor is originally from England, apparently the current Brooklyn resident has resisted the wiles of a slice since he moved there last summer.

Stewart will reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier next year in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and is partnering with fellow "X-Men" friend Ian McKellen for a two-play project on Broadway later in 2013.

Fans on Twitter applauded his meal choice, questioned his clothing, and couldn't believe he waited so long.







If this is his first bite of pizza, Sir Patrick Stewart has a long way to the final frontier.
