Patton Oswalt is engaged after proposing to Meredith Salenger, a voice, TV, and movie actress.
The two appeared together last month for the first time at the premiere of “Baby Driver.”
Oswalt’s wife Michelle McNamara, a writer and founder of the True Crime Diary website, died suddenly in her sleep in April 2016 after taking prescription medications while having an undiagnosed heart condition.
Oswalt has been very public about his grief, writing about it and referring to it in his stand-up comedy material.
Salenger tweeted the news of the engagement enthusiastically.
Oswalt joked about it in a tweet.
“I’m marrying THIS nerd. #dontbejealous” Salenger responded.
Plenty of people on Twitter seemed to think it was too soon for Oswalt to remarry, but this Twitter fan had a different take.
And some just congratulated the couple.
Oswalt will have a role in the upcoming NBC comedy “A.P. Bio.”
