Paul Walker's autopsy revealed Tuesday that the actor died from the "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries," the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office reported.
The report said Roger Rodas, Walker's friend and the driver of the vehicle, died instantly, and that
Walker lived "maybe" only a few seconds longer, ABC News reported.
Both deaths were ruled accidental.
Initially the results of the autopsy had been placed on a security hold.
The lockdown was "a precaution to prevent information being released that had not been confirmed and to allow all media outlets that have requested notification the same opportunity at
whatever information is released," Chief Coroner Craig Harvey told E! News.

"These types of cases present real challenges to our staff and we get one chance to get it right," he said. "There are a series of checks and balances we follow so that our work product is rock solid. We owe that to the families we serve and I know the media wants accurate information."
The bodies were so badly burned that the coroner is
relying on dental records to identify them, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Walker, the 40-year-old actor known for his role in the popular "Fast & Furious" film franchise, and his friend and driver Roger Rodas, 38, were
both killed Saturday when the Porsche Carrera GT they were riding in crashed into a pole and burst into flames in Valencia, Calif.
The pair had reportedly spent the day at a Philippines typhoon fundraising event hosted by their charity, Reach Out Worldwide. A
fterwards, according to E! Online, Rodas suggested they take his 2005 Porsche for a quick drive to see if they could figure out why it had been stalling earlier.
Police are in the middle of the investigation, but believe that speed may have played a role in the fatal crash. The speed limit on the road Walker and Rodas were driving on is 45 mph, but it's not yet clear how fast they were going.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Porsche spun out of control as it rounded a bend, a law enforcement official told E! Online.
