An investigation has officially determined that unsafe speed was the cause of the November accident in that killed "Fast & Furious" actor Paul Walker, who was a passenger in a vehicle that lost control and crashed in suburban Los Angeles.
The investigation completed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department found that the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by Walker's friend Roger Rodas, a veteran race car driver, was traveling 93 miles per hour, more than twice the legal speed limit in the Santa Clarita business district when it crashed Nov. 30,
according to the Los Angeles Times.

Investigators believed that a pair of 9-year-old tires on the vehicle contributed to the crash and not mechanical failure, the newspaper reported, and no evidence of car system failures, such as braking problems, was found by investigators.
Investigators said Rodas was driving too fast while trying to make a tight curve, causing the accident. Walker, 40, suffered "severe blunt head, neck and chest trauma," along with a broken arm, jaw and ribs, according to a coroner's report.
Rodas, 38, suffered similar injuries and a fractured skull.
Investigators said Walker and Rodas had no drugs or alcohol in their system at the time of the accident and both were wearing seatbelts and airbags were deployed,
reported Reuters.
Walker was filming "Fast & Furious 7" at the time and production was postponed after his death.
Walker and Rodas had taken what was supposed to be a short ride from a fundraiser benefiting Walker's charity Reach Out Worldwide when the accident occurred,
according the New York Daily News. The charity raised funds for first-response aid to victims of natural disasters.
Rodas worked as Walker's financial adviser and the two became friends because of their shared love for fast cars. The men co-owned an auto racing team named after Rodas' shop, Always Evolving.
Rodas drove professionally on the Pirelli World Challenge circuit in 2013.
