Paul Walker To Live On as 'Fast & Furious 7' Filming Restarts

It seems filming on "Fast & Furious 7" has kicked off ahead of schedule this week as the four-month anniversary of star Paul Walker's death approaches.

Local news outlets in Atlanta reported this week that certain streets had been closed and production notices had been distributed to area businesses stating that filming would take place from March 16-22, and would "include automotive stunts, simulated combat, and special effects."

Actor Vin Diesel also posted on Facebook last week about filming.

"The transition into that [character] Dom [Toretto] state of mind has always been an interesting one . . . only this time there is added purpose, a collective goal to make this the best one in the series," he wrote. "P.s. The long awaited completion of Seven, begins . . . "

Production on the movie was delayed when Walker, the 40-year-old star of the film franchise, died in a fiery car wreck in Valencia, Calif., on Nov. 30. It was originally slated to pick back up in April after a major script rewrite to figure out the fate of Walker's character Brian O'Connor. It was decided that — since Walker had already filmed scenes for the movie — his character would be "retired" and not killed off.

While part of the production crew filmed in Atlanta this week, some of the cast members reportedly traveled to the United Arab Emirates to shoot scenes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Actor Tyrese Gibson posted a photo of Dubai on Instagram Tuesday with the caption, "I'm back."
