Peaches Geldof's Funeral Held at Same Church as Mother Who OD'd

Funeral services for Peaches Geldof, daughter of musician and Live Aid organizer Bob Geldof, were held Monday at St. Mary Magdalene and St. Charles Church in Kent, England, where the funeral was held for her mother who died of a drug overdose in 2000.

Geldof's death was "non-suspicious but unexplained and sudden," and an autopsy could not determine the cause of death. Authorities said they needed toxicology reports to determine the cause of death.

Numerous people from the entertainment industry attended the 25-year-old's funeral, including model Kate Moss and her husband Jamie Hince as well as former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, according to The Mirror.

A crowd of "local well-wishers" lined a street leading to the church to see Geldof's hearse arrive Monday morning. Nick Grimshaw, journalist Mariella Frostrup, musician and television personality Jools Holland and Jo Wood attended the funeral as well.

New York magazine reported Geldof had been transforming herself before she died "from the self-described 'poster girl for London partying' to a suburban mom whose photograph only appeared on Instagram, in selfies with her (two) sons, Astala Dylan Willow and Phaedra Bloom Forever, and their father, her second husband, 23-year-old S.C.U.M. singer Thomas Cohen." 

Geldof faced the deaths of several close family members as a child. Her mother Paula Yates, a television journalist and writer, died of a heroin overdose in 2000 at age 41, shortly after rehab. INXS singer Michael Hutchence, the father of Geldof's half-sister Tiger Lily with Yates, committed suicide influenced in 1997 at age 37.

Before her death, Geldof told The Mirror that she was enjoying family life outside of London.

"We are only half an hour out of London by train so it isn't far enough to be cut off but just far enough to have the benefits of actual fresh air, rolling green fields and a place where the smog doesn't actually obscure the stars when you look up at the sky at night," Geldof said of her new life in Kent. "It’s going to be idyllic and a great place to bring the boys up."
