"An actor can't do what they do without hundreds of amazing people working for them and alongside them. I learned so much this year. I got to work with Melissa McCarthy on 'The Heat.' ... And on 'Gravity,' the nicest people in the world would string me up and leave me there, and I still had an amazing time," she said.
Also winning big Wednesday was Ellen Degeneres, who took home her 14th People’s Choice Award for her talk show. As usual, she had the room laughing as she talked about her work: “I was talking to this lovely African-American woman and she told me she was single and she works 80 hours a week to get by. And she looks forward to coming home every single night and watching me, and that woman’s name was Oprah Winfrey. And I think that I am doing something right.”
Justin Timberlake carried out an armful of awards in the music categories, winning three, including Favorite Album.
"I'd like to thank my parents for continuing to instill in me that no dream is too big. I'd like to thank my team that puts up with my ridiculous neuroses all the time — sorry, but not really, because look at this," Timberlake said as he held up his award. He also gave some advice to men everywhere by advising them it goes a long way with the wife when you actually put the dishes in the dishwasher.
Britney Spears won her first award for Favorite Pop Artist.
More than 700 million votes were placed by fans to choose the People’s Choice winners.
