A snack for a new generation that combines soft drink sipping and munchy crunching? Enter Pepsi-flavored Cheetos.
Move over cronuts, peanut butter and jelly vodka, and old-fashioned deep fried twinkies, the new snack from Frito-Lay that even fizzes hit shelves in Japan for a limited time last month, reported
USAToday.com.
Currently there are no plans to bring
Pepsi-flavored Cheetos to the U.S., said Frito-Lay spokesman Jeff Dahncke.

Mixing flavors works. “Consumers all want something absolutely new that’s never been seen before,” Lynn Dornblaser, new products guru at the research firm Mintel, told USA Today.
"These Pepsi-flavored Cheetos are the latest food hybrid to spit in the eye of Mother Nature," wrote a reviewer of the snack for
The Impulsive Buy.
The innovative snacks smell like cinnamon donuts and even provide a fizz, he wrote. Still, he could only eat a few of the corn puff treat.
“The flavors are very distinct and don’t really ever mesh well together. But they do linger in the mouth for quite a while to leave you with a weird, marginally accurate, if lemony, Pepsi aftertaste.”
Online commenters welcomed the news of a new flavor combo.
“Why is it that the USA can’t get these special foreign flavors. Whopper flavor potato chips are sold in Mexico,” said one reader.

At least one commenter expressed concerns about the snack available on eBay.
“The flavors not meshing would be the point I’d be concerned about if I were to try these (and I won’t). I like how you say that a few tweaks would make them “passable”. That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement.”
