Piers Morgan Slammed by Nancy Grace Over His Gun Control Stance

Talking head Nancy Grace verbally attacked host Piers Morgan for voicing his gun control stance as a British citizen, and on his own show.

During a panel segment that included Morgan, Grace, civil rights activist Van Jones, and conservative CNN commentator Ben Ferguson, the panel was reacting to a George Zimmerman calling himself a victim on a separate interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo.

The discussion bridged from Zimmerman's comment to the recent report about Michael Dunn, the Florida man who fatally shot 17-year-old Jordan Davis, after an argument over loud music.

"Here's are my problems with this," Morgan said. "If Dunn and Zimmerman had not been carrying guns, then these two young boys who were unarmed as it turned out, regardless of any fear that may be felt by the people shooting the guns, they would be alive, right? So there's a gun accessibility of people."

Grace jumped on Morgan, and said his British background disqualified him from speaking on the issue.

"Oh are you back on gun control again!" Grace said. "If it weren't for the British, we wouldn't even have to have protections to carry guns. It was the British way back when we founded America who were running through all of our homes, trying to take our stuff! So we're protected under the constitution! So it's not really right for a Brit to jump up and start talking to us about gun control."

Morgan shot back: "It seems to be entirely up to a Brit because you can't sort out your own gun problems!"

Last week, the host of "Piers Morgan Live" said he was questioned by British police in connection with the long-running phone-hacking scandal. Morgan, a former editor at The Daily Mirror newspaper from 1995 to 2004, was "interviewed under caution" Dec. 6, which means the recorded interview could be used in future prosecutions.

"This was further to a full witness statement I had already freely provided," Morgan said in a statement last week. "I attended that interview as requested."
