A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said the Cessna 207 aircraft crashed about 400 feet short of the runway near Page, Arizona, The Arizona Republic reports.

The plane is registered to American Aviation Inc. in Salt Lake City, according to FAA records.

Page police Capt. Ben Varner told The Republic there were six passengers from France onboard as well as the pilot.

Four people were treated and released from Page Hospital for minor injuries, and another was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center and was reportedly in stable condition, The Associated Press said. The seventh person was not injured.

Varner said one passenger was taken to Page Hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.

Officials from the Page Police Department, Federal Aviation Administration, and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.

American Aviation Inc.’s website states that with offices at the Page airport, “We can take you on a tour of a lifetime in and around Lake Powell, Glen Canyon Dam, and Horseshoe Bend.”

The company’s website indicated they are still in the process of providing additional information for the Page office that is close to the border of Arizona and Utah.
