Two new photos of Princess Charlotte taken by her mother show the young princess before her first day of nursery school Monday at the Willocks Nursery School in London.
Charlotte wore a red coat and shoes and sported a pink backpack for her first day of school. Her hair was neatly pulled back with a red ribbon. The Duchess of Cambridge previously said pink is the young princess’ favorite color, ABC News reported.
Prince William and Kate Middleton had announced that Charlotte, 2, would be starting preschool after the new year in their Christmas card in December.
The Willcocks Nursery School has classes for children ages 2 to 5 and includes activities such as poetry, acting, sports, cooking and music.
Tuition at the school is more than $4,000 per year, Time reported.
Charlotte’s older brother Prince George went to preschool at Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk and is now in kindergarten in London.
Kate, who turns 36 on Tuesday, and William will welcome a third child to their family in April.
Twitter followers commented on Princess Charlotte's cuteness and her royal bearing.
