Human Life Review is sponsoring a screening of "Pro-Life Feminist," an independent short film featuring three leaders of the controversial pro-life feminist movement, in New York City May 3.
The film will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street in New York, organizers said. Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa, who made headlines when was removed from a partnership with the Women's March of Washington, will star in film, according to a press release.
Herndon-De La Rosa, founder and president of New Wave Feminists, is joined by Aimee Murphy and Christina Bennett in the half-hour film, as they work to connect the perspectives of feminism and pro-life "with candor, humor, and respect, finding more common ground than either side realizes," according to the Human Life Review statement.
Director and screenplay writer Jim Hanon directs the film. His credits include "End of the Spear" in 2005, and "Little Town of Bethlehem." Human Life Review said that Hanon and the three stars will take part in a panel discussion following the screening.
Human Life Review describes itself as "the intellectual backbone of the right to life movement, and a place for debates over bio-ethical issues." The review attempts to reach "the millennial generation through EXPECT, its new initiative for young professionals to address hot button life issues such as assisted suicide, surrogacy and pro-life feminism," the organization stated.
