Quintuplets graduated from the same university on the same weekend last month as Enna, Maria, Emilio, George, and John Diaz crossed the stage at the University of North Texas, the South West News Service reported.
The five, from Keller, Texas, were born in July, 1996 and have done virtually everything together – attended the same schools from elementary to high school, went to prom together and at one time lived in the same college housing, the news service said.
While they graduated at the same time, their majors could not be more different. Maria studied art and design and minored in advertising. Enna earned a degree in biology and has her eyes set on becoming a doctor, according to KDFW-TV.
Emilio majored in social communication and wants to one day have his own radio show while George was a Spanish and logistics major and has a job working with taxes, the television station said. John majored in finance and wants to get into international business.
Their parents Jorge and Enna Diaz, both 55, watched their children graduate over the May 10-11 weekend, SWNS said.
"Ever since they were born people were asking me how I would ever put five of them through college," Jorge Diaz, originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, told SWNS. "It has been my dream to see them through college. Watching them graduate was the best feeling any parent can have but multiply that by five. We did it."
George Diaz said he can only imagine the pride his father was feeling after getting the quintuplets through college, according to "Inside Edition."
"I don't think I'll ever be half as happy as my dad was when we graduated," George Diaz said. "It was always his main goal to get us all through college and he was like, 'Holy moly, I did it.'"
Enna said her parents won't be the only people going through some serious empty nest syndrome as they leave their baby brother Sebastian, 17, behind, SWNS said.
"It was definitely a shock to Sebastian's system," Enna Diaz said. "He grew up with all of us around him constantly and then we were just gone."
