A "rally cat" appeared in Busch Stadium on Wednesday. It was the sixth inning, with the Cardinals trailing the Kansas City Royals. What happened next is why the ever-superstitious St. Louis fans want the cat to become a regular.

The kitty was ejected and then Yadier Molina hit the next pitch for a grand slam home run, giving the Cardinals an 8-5 lead (which also ended up being the game's final score).

The cat, which headed for the centerfield wall, was retrieved by a member of the Busch Stadium grounds, identified by KMOX as Lucas Hackman. The cat scratched or bit Hackman a couple of times as he was running off the field.

"I'm not a cat person, but I sure like that one," St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said after the game, per MLB.com. "… I thought there was a streaker on the field to be honest, but I was happy it was a cat."

The cat, nicknamed Yadi, reportedly was seen later being taken from the stadium in a crate, according to Ben Boyd of KMOX Radio.

Yadi found a new fan club on social media.
