Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul got testy during an interview with CNBC's Kelly Evans on Monday, at one point cutting her off, shushing her, and telling her to "calm down."
"Hey, let me finish. Hey, hey, Kelly, shhh," Paul said, raising his index finger to his lips, as he tried to respond to a question about his corporate tax holiday. "Calm down a bit here, Kelly. Let me answer the question."
The New York Times reported that many saw Paul's actions as sexist, with some speculating whether he would do the same to a male anchor. Many took to Twitter to voice their concern, with some accusing Paul of attempting to contemptuously "mansplain" his position to the female reporter.
