Anti-Israel Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., the freshman congresswoman who has loudly supported boycotting Israel, built her personal website with an Israeli product!
A strong supporter of the BDS movement – boycott, divestment, sanctions – Tlaib, a Muslim who has stirred controversy with comments considered anti-Semitic by many, appears not to know her website is built on a platform powered by Wix, an Israeli company!
The Michigan representative was among several other anti-Israel activists exposed recently by the U.K. based Israeli advocacy group Israel Advocacy Movement, which revealed Tlaib developed her own website using the Israeli-created Wix website builder platform, The Jerusalem Post noted.
In a video clip, Joseph Cohen, the founder of the movement noted people such as Tlaib, who are calling for Israel's boycott, were "ignorant of the incredible contribution Israel makes to the world." He added their "hollow threats of boycott are nothing but political stunts that could never be implemented."
Cohen went on to criticize Tlaib, "the Palestinian queen of BDS" for having a website "built and bought from Israel," the Times of Israel reported. "While she's telling America to boycott Israel, she's personally benefiting from their technology," he added.
By Tuesday, other pro-Israel groups had caught wind of the news. The Democratic Majority for Israel released a tongue-in-cheek comment in which it congratulated Tlaib "for breaking her boycott of Israel," according to Times of Israel.
In a statement, DMI president Mark Mellman commended Talib "for her decision to use the best products she can find instead of discriminating against Israel in way that increases hostility, thereby making peace between Israelis and Palestinians more difficult to achieve."
The DMI further noted "Wix now serves 110 million users in 109 countries, including the Rashida Tlaib for Congress campaign."
Tlaib remained in the spotlight after she apologized Thursday if she made Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., feel as if she was "calling him a racist" after bringing HUD official Lynne Patton in front of the House Oversight Committee to refute claims the president is a racist. However, during an appearance on CNN's "New Day," Tlaib insisted Meadows committed a racist "act."
