Raven-Symone was the latest actress to be dragged into the growing scandal attached to Bill Cosby, but she went online to emphatically deny that the comedian ever assaulted her.
Hip-Hop Hangover, a news site built on satire and fake stories, wrote a story this week about Raven-Symone, attributing information to TMZ that the actress said she was raped and drugged while working on “The Cosby Show.”
Raven-Symone jumped right into the fray with an Instagram text Wednesday saying, in part, “I was NOT taking advantage of by Mr. Cosby when I was on the Cosby Show! I was practically a baby on that show and this is truly a disgusting rumor that I want no part of!”
She closed the comment, which was accompanied by a picture of her on the show, with a sharp, “Now keep me out of this!”
Cosby has been under fire the last few weeks as 15 women have come forward to say that he raped them.
Time magazine created a timeline of accusations against the comedian, starting with the 2005 civil lawsuit filed by Andrea Constand, claiming that Cosby drugged and molested her. The paperwork for that lawsuit listed 12 other women willing to testify against Cosby, Time said.
Cosby has refused to comment on the allegations. Various projects involving Cosby that have been scheduled were canceled, including a new show that was being developed by NBC, a comedy special Netflix had set for Nov. 28, and even TV Land responded to the allegations by pulling reruns of “The Cosby Show.”
