Rene Angelil, Celine Dion's husband and former manager, died Thursday morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long battle with cancer. He was 73.
Billboard magazine reported that the couple recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary.
"Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle
against cancer," read a note on Dion's website. "The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time."

The Colosseum on Feb. 23, according to USA Today.
"It is impossible to overstate the impact Rene and of course Celine have had on the history of entertainment in Las Vegas and at Caesars Palace, with his audacious vision regarding her residency, now 13 years and counting," Gary Selesner, president of Caesars Palace, said in a statement.
"Rene was truly an amazing human being, showman, and businessman, and over these many years became a loved and cherished member of the Caesars Palace family," Selesner continued.
Dion, the best-selling artist who won a Song of the Year Grammy for one of her biggest hits, "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie "Titanic," has had Angelil by her side as her personal
manager since she was 12, wrote Lifetime TV.
The singer took a break from the entertainment business in 1999 to start a family with Angelil, and the couple welcomed their first child, Rene-Charles, in 2001.
