Former pro wrestling champion Ric Flair is pinned between paying his estranged wife $32,000 or being jailed for contempt of court.
A state judge issued an arrest warrant earlier this month for Ric Flair because he had not paid that amount in spousal support, the Charlotte Observer reported. Flair, whose given name is Richard Fliehr, told the newspaper he planned on paying Jacqueline Beems on Wednesday.
In his heyday, Flair, also known as "The Nature Boy," was a 17-time World Championship Wrestling world title holder, according to
Flair's website. He has written a biography "To Be the Man" and was inducted in the World Wrestling Entertainment's Hall of Fame in 2008.

However, the wrestler said he had not worked in three months because a blood clot in his leg kept him in a hospital for a month. Flair said the death of his son, Reid Fliehr, 25, on March 29 was another factor in his inability to pay.
The Observer reported that an autopsy on Reid Fliehr revealed that he died from a combination of heroin and prescription drugs. He was found dead in a SouthPark hotel room, part of a suite where Flair was temporarily living, said the newspaper.
Flair initially agreed to pay Beems $4,000 a month when the couple separated last year. That total piled up to $32,352.51 after two court orders were issued, the Observer reported after gleaning court records.
Beems, on the other hand, turned herself into police and released on bond on Tuesday after Flair charged that she made numerous harassing phone calls and sent harassing texts to his current girlfriend Wendy Barlow Kidder.

Beems attorney Brad Smith called the charges against his client "unfounded and outlandish" but Flair said Kidder had kept the phone messages and text as proof.
"My girlfriend Wendy Kidder is the mother of four and she has 50 texts and five phone (voice-) mails from my ex-wife," Flair told the Obsserver. "They didn’t give Wendy a warrant for arrest without looking at all of that stuff."
