Emmy-winning journalist Rita Cosby and New York host Curtis Sliwa have paired up for a new midday show on 77 WABC Radio called "Curtis + Cosby."
The show debuted on Tuesday in the noon to 3 p.m. time slot as Sliwa enters his fourth year hosting midday programs on the station. Cosby, a best-selling author, is the station's political editor and has hosted the "Election Central" and "The Rita Cosby Show." Both hosts appear regularly on Newsmax TV.
"Curtis and Rita are larger-than-life personalities and exceptional hosts who really understand what makes New York tick. Our listeners, our advertisers, and our staff are excited about the show," Chad Lopez, vice president/market manager, Cumulus Media-New York, said in a news release.
WABC Program Director Craig Schwalb called the duo a "New York dream team."
"I think now more than ever, it’s important to have more female voices in talk radio. There are not enough of us in key slots and I hope to add an important perspective on so many of the key issues of our day," Cosby told The Wrap.
Cosby, a former Fox News anchor, wrote "Quiet Hero: Secrets from My Father’s Past," a book about her father, a Nazi POW, in 2011.
Sliwa founded Guardian Angels, a group of volunteers dedicated to protecting citizens.
