Pennsylvania police have ruled out a connection between the shooting death of a 28-year-old Maine man in a road rage incident on Interstate 81 and an earlier roadway shooting 50 miles away.
Timothy Davison Jr. was shot and killed along the interstate about 2 a.m. Jan. 4,
reported The Associated Press. Authorities told the news agency that it believes the suspect may have been driving a dark-colored Ford Ranger XKT pickup truck possibly with damage to its front driver's side.
Pennsylvania State Police Steven Junkin told the AP they believe the suspect chased Davison on Interstate 81 northward for about 15 miles, from Interstate 70 in Maryland to a few miles into Pennsylvania.

Junkin told the AP that the believed that the suspect may have turned around and headed south after the shooting. He said authorities found no evidence that Davison, who made calls to 911 while being pursued, provoked the attack.
"This actor had murderous intent," Junkin told the AP. "We obviously have an individual who was so incensed that he continued to pursue Mr. Davison."
CNN reported that a task force from Pennsylvania and Maryland state police departments and the FBI began to investigate the shooting over the weekend.
"The acts committed against Mr. Davison were random only to the point of his initial encounter with his assailant," the Pennsylvania state police said in a statement last Friday. "Beyond that, the acts against him were very deliberate, calculated, and violent... The potential for additional incidents of similar nature is anticipated due to the violent nature of this incident."
James Allocca, Davison's uncle, told CNN that the family "wants justice before someone else gets hurt."
The AP said that Davison was returning to Maine after visiting family in Florida when he died. Davison's father, Timothy Davison Sr., told CNN that he learned about his son's death when police arrived at his door on Saturday.
"I can't begin to tell you what it's like to hear that," he said. "It's not right. (He was a) great guy and a very easy kid to raise. He cared for everyone around him. He was a rugged kid, extremely sensitive."
