Ron Goldman’s family reacted to news on OJ Simpson’s parole, saying they proably will never see justice served for the killing of their son and brother.
The family appeared on “Good Morning America” just hours before Simpson was set to appear before the Nevada Board of Parole on Thursday.
Speaking to George Stephanopoulos, Fred Goldman said it was troubling how the system afforded violent felons to get second chances.
“Ron doesn’t get a second chance,” he said.
Ron Goldman’s sister, Kim Goldman, added that while Simpson was imprisoned for a Las Vegas robbery, the family had the chance to reclaim their lives have some semblance for sanity.
“I’m preparing for that to be changing,” she said.
Fred Goldman said the family would probably never get justice.
“Ron never gets to spend his life doing what he wanted to do; we’ll never get to share his life,” he said.
“And the killer will walk free and do whatever he wants.”
Simpson was granted parole after he appeared live via video teleconference in front of the parole board in Carson City from the Lovelock Correctional Center.
“The decision was handed down by parole commissioners Connie S. Bisbee, Tony Corda, Adam Endel and Susan Jackson, the same four board members who granted Simpson parole at his July 2013 hearing on his kidnapping, robbery and burglary charges,” noted Entertainment Tonight.
In 1995, Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, his wife, and of Ron Goldman.
In 2008 he stood before a court again on 10 charges in the Law Vegas heist and was sentenced to nine to 33 years imprisonment, said the New York Daily News.
