Ronda Rousey, the undefeated UFC bantamweight champion, has filed to trademark her catchphrase “Do Nothing B****,” sometimes abbreviated as DNB.
ESPN reported that Rousey has already sold about 50,000 shirts that say, “Don’t be a D.N.B.” She has used the phrase in context to explain what she doesn’t want to be — a woman who just wants to be pretty and not take care of herself.
Rousey is expected to defend her UFC bantamweight title for the seventh time on January 2 when she goes up against world-class boxer Holly Holm.
Earlier this month, Bleacher Report dubbed Holm "the fighter who could beat" Rousey, though conceding that Rousey is "a next-level athlete, strong and fast and hyper-aggressive. Her game is built around the clinch, an area of expertise she spent years perfecting en route to two Olympic Games representing the United States in judo. When she puts hands on you, it's all over."
Holm, though, has her own following as a former world-champion boxer who made her MMA debut in 2011, BR said.
"Right now, it seems like Rousey is head and shoulders above all competition. But there is a fighter lurking who might just have the particular skill set required to do the impossible," BR wrote in early August. “Holly Holm awaits."
Rousey told ABC News she’s looking forward to meeting Holm on the mat.
"She's the most decorated striker we have in all of mixed martial arts," she said. "Definitely my biggest challenge to date. I'm super excited about it. She's not the average chick I would fight. She's the best striker I've ever fought, and striking is something I learned much later in my career."
