Ronnie Wood, the 68-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist, and his 37-year-old wife are expecting twins to be born in June 2016, it was announced this week.

Wood and wife Sally Humphreys, a theater production company owner who is two years younger than Wood's first child, were married in 2012 and the twins will be the couple's first children together, U.K. newspaper The Sun reported.

"Sally and Ronnie Wood are delighted to announce that they are expecting twins in June 2016," a spokesperson for the Rolling Stones said in a statement. "Needless to say, they are thrilled and overjoyed with the wonderful news."

Humphreys opened up about the possibility of having children with Wood in 2014.

"He's got a lot of friends that are older who have younger children and they all say it's fantastic and it keeps you young. I do think that would be wonderful, but I don’t know if it will happen. I hope so," she told The Telegraph at the time, according to CNN. "A baby would be nice. Obviously we’ve spoken about it quite a lot, and you can ask him and his response would be, 'Well, that would be nice.' He's up for it."

The long-time Stones guitarist has four other children from previous relationships, as well as eight grandchildren, The Sun noted.

Born in 1947 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England, Wood was 28 when he joined the Rolling Stones in the mid-1970s to replace Mick Taylor who had left the band, according to the band's website. Wood had previously performed with The Birds and Faces with Rod Stewart.

Katie Price, a former model and British television personality, slammed Wood after news of the pregnancy broke, according to The Huffington Post U.K.

"I think it's totally wrong, totally selfish," Price said, going on to criticize the musician's looks in the rant. "He's going out with a marital woman who is the same age as his daughter. That's selfish . . . I'm not being funny but if he wasn't Ronnie Wood would she really look at him? He's not exactly a hunk to look at either is he? In my opinion I'd rather have a pillow over my face."
