Rosie O'Donnell's divorce with wife Michelle Rounds has gotten ugly, and now Rounds wants a judge to force the talk show host to submit to random drug testing until their custody battle is resolved.
Rounds has filed for sole custody of their adopted daughter because, she said, O'Donnell drinks too much wine, smokes too much weed, and is generally inattentive.
Rounds lawyer will ask for an order requiring O'Donnell to submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and if the tests reveal a problem she can then ask for an emergency order,
according to TMZ.
"I just want my child to have the best possible environment to grow up in, a normal life. Right now she's got 24/7 nannies over there at Rosie's house. I don't want my child to have a 24/7 nanny,"
Rounds told Entertainment Tonight in an interview released Wednesday.
Around the same time,
TMZ reported that Rounds' court filings accuse O'Donnell of drinking a bottle of wine nearly every night, smoking weed and consuming edibles, and even letting their 19-year-old son throw parties where all the kids drink.
In response, O'Donnell's representative told TMZ, "This is a distorted perception of Michelle's reality. It's sad in every way."
ET asked Rounds about rumors that she was after her wife's money, however Rounds strongly denied it.
"I made my first million before the age of 39 — that was before I met Rosie. I don't need Rosie's money. I don't want Rosie's money. Nothing was in my name. The prenup money means nothing to me," she said.
"I will walk away from the prenup if Rosie will give me full custody," she added.
Since marrying in June 2012, Rounds underwent surgery to remove desmoid tumors, and O'Donnell suffered a heart attack later that year. In 2013, they adopted daughter Dakota, 2, as a newborn.
O'Donnell has four children from her previous marriage with Kelli Carpenter.
