Mike Pence was the target of a Sacha Baron Cohen prank, which was revealed in the trailer for the comedian's latest film on Thursday. The incident took place at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February. At the time, the vice president was interrupted while delivering his speech by someone disguised as Trump. Now it has emerged that Cohen was the prankster.
In the trailer, Cohen, who is dressed in an elaborate costume resembling Trump, storms into CPAC carrying a girl on his shoulder.
"Michael Pennis, I brought a girl for you," he yells from the crowd.
The film is officially titled, "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery Of Prodigious Bribe To American Regime For Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan," according to The Hill. It will be released on Oct. 23 on Amazon Prime.
The trailer comes after a recent incident during which Cohen pranked attendees of a right-wing rally by pretending to be a country singer. He managed to get members of the audience to sing along to a racist song about injecting politicians with the "Wuhan flu" and chopping them up "like the Saudis do."
Disguised as a bluegrass singer, the comedian infiltrated the "March For Our Rights 3" rally that was held in June by the right-wing militia group Washington Three Percenters. Cohen reportedly had his own security stationed near the stage to prevent him from being removed from the event, but he packed up and went home after members in the crowd began booing and calling him a racist.
