Scarlett Johansson has called out paparazzi after she was relentlessly pursued through Los Angeles and she says the situation is so dire the photographers are going to cause another death like Princess Diana’s.

Now she’s calling for new laws to be enacted.

The 34-year-old released a statement Tuesday reprimanding the paparazzi who "consistently go to increasingly dangerous lengths to stalk and harass the people they are photographing," according to The Guardian. Her comments are in response to an incident that took place on Monday after her appearance on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show.

As she was exiting the studio, a group of photographers spotted her and gave pursuit. A high-speed car chase ensued, with five paparazzi cars allegedly speeding through red lights in order to get the inside scoop on where Johansson and her 4-year-old daughter were staying.

The "Avengers" star's security detail drove straight to the LAPD Hollywood station. She was not injured but the incident left her "spooked," a police spokesperson told CBS Los Angeles.

In her statement, Johansson slammed the photographers for putting "other drivers and pedestrians at risk," stating that these scenarios are merely "a waiting game before another person gets seriously injured or killed, like Princess Diana," The Guardian noted.

"Even after Princess Diana’s tragic death, the laws were never changed to protect targets from the lawless paparazzi," Johansson said. "Women across the US are stalked, harassed and frightened and a universal law to address stalking must be at the forefront of law enforcement conversations."
