Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has warned a "Blue Wave" is coming in November after Democrats picked up a state Supreme Court seat during a statewide election there.
The two-time Republican governor and one-time presidential candidate went to Twitter to issue the warning after Milwaukee County Judge Rebecca Dallet won the Supreme Court seat by 12 points over Sauk County Judge Michael Screnock by 12 points Tuesday, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.
In a fourth tweet, Walker urged Wisconsin conservatives to talk about the successes of the Republican Party in hopes to wash out the "blue wave" in November.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported it was the first time a liberal candidate won an open seat on the state's Supreme Court since 1995, while the State Journal added that the Democratic win comes after the party captured a state Senate seat in January that it had not held since 2001.
The Journal Sentinel noted that a Walker-supported circuit judicial candidate lost in Waukesha County and a Republican-pushed constitutional amendment to do away with the state treasurer's office also failed in Wisconsin.
