Scott Walker, Chris Christie Trade Barbs Over Awkward Cowboys Hug

By    |   Wednesday, 07 January 2015 04:21 PM EST

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are trading barbs after Christie celebrated Sunday's Dallas Cowboys playoff win in the box with team owner Jerry Jones.

Christie, the subject of ribbing for being a Cowboys fan, was caught on TV awkwardly hugging Jones after Dallas beat the Detroit Lions.

On Wednesday, Gov. Walker poked fun at Christie in a tweet about the coming game, when the Cowboys will go to Wisconsin to play the Green Bay Packers.

Christie responded to the tweet with an image altered to include himself in an embrace between Walker and his son.

As a a publicly owned nonprofit, more than 360,500 people own shares of the Packers.

Walker, who is considering a possible presidential run, could face Christie, who campaigned for his re-election, in the Republican presidential primary.

Twitter users commented on the exchange.
