Three Secret Service agents tasked with protecting President Barack Obama during this week's trip to Amsterdam were sent home after one
agent was found passed out drunk in a hotel hallway, CNN reported, the latest embarrassment for the organization.
Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary confirmed to reporters that the agents were returned to the U.S. for "disciplinary reasons" but declined to give specifics or say whether they were placed on administrative leave.

Citing a Secret Service source familiar with the matter,
The Los Angeles Times reported that the situation happened prior to the president's Monday arrival in The Netherlands. The three agents are part of the Counter Assault Team, known within the organization as "CAT."
Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan told CNN that an investigation is underway.
The 150-year-old agency already has a black eye after
two agents were removed from the president's detail and investigated for sexually related misconduct in November. In 2012, 11 agents were pulled after bringing prostitutes to their hotel ahead of a presidential trip to Cartagena, Colombia. That led to the adoption of stricter rules for conduct, including forbidding agents from drinking 10 hours before duty.
Obama went to Amsterdam to attend a nuclear security summit. From there, he will continue a six-day trip through Europe and to Saudi Arabia.
