Seo Min-woo, the K-pop singer for the boy band 100%, has died of a cardiac arrest at his home in Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea, at age 33, Billboard magazine wrote.
Seo's record label, TOP Media, said the singer, who was also pursuing an acting career, had led 100% since forming it in 2012, according to Billboard. He appeared in the Korean television reality series "The Unit," where K-pop stars competed for a chance to renew their career.
K-pop is a genre of music originating in South Korea, which has spread across and world, fueled by its dedicated fans on social media, according to Time magazine.
"His family, the 100% members, and the TOP Media artists and staff members are all grief-stricken and in mourning from the unexpected, sad news," TOP Media wrote, according to Billboard.
Seo appeared in his first acting series in the 2006 drama series "Sharp 3" before making it big with 100%, the Korea Herald said. The publication wrote that the K-pop group hasn't decided whether to precede with Japan concerts on April 21 and 30.
