Several MLB games were postponed Sunday as a result of inclement weather conditions, Sporting News reported.
The Tigers were forced to move both games of the doubleheader between the Yankees and Tigers in Detroit to Monday, June 4, while the Kansas City Royals had to reschedule a matchup against the Angels for June 25.
Angels phenom Shohei Ohtani, who was slated to pitch Sunday, said he was relieved about the MLB's decision to cancel the game.
"I was a little worried about pitching in the cold weather. I couldn't feel my fingertips. I couldn't feel the ball. It was a concern of mine," he said, according to USA Today.
The Cleveland match between the Blue Jays and Indians was postponed to May 3, which will now be a double header after both teams saw their Saturday game rescheduled for the same day, Sports Illustrated noted.
Meanwhile, the Cubs matchup against the Braves was postponed to May 14 after both teams expressed their dissatisfaction of having to play in the weather conditions on Saturday.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon criticized the MLB for making his team play in the first place.
"That's not baseball weather,'' he said of Saturday's matchup, according to The Chicago-Sun Times. "The elements were horrific to play baseball. It's not conducive. We'll do what we're asked or told to, but those were the worst elements I've ever experienced in a game. Ever. And I've been in some pretty bad stuff."
Snow and inclement weather also saw the final three games of a four-game series between the White Sox and Twins in Minneapolis cancelled.
