People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2017 is country music superstar Blake Shelton, who joins his fellow "The Voice" judge Adam Levine as an award winner.
Levine, who shared "The Voice" judge gallery with Shelton on the reality singing competition on NBC, won the Sexiest Man Alive title in 2013, a fact that was not lost on Shelton, People noted.
"I can't wait to shove this up Adam's a**," Shelton told People jokingly. "As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that's really the only thing I care about."
The honor also affects a third judge on "The Voice," Shelton's girlfriend and fellow chart-topping singer Gwen Stefani, who encouraged Shelton to accept the honor, People said.
"She goes, 'Listen to me, you're going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don't take this gift and just live in the moment,'" Shelton told People about Stefani's push.
Stefani told the celebrity show "Access Hollywood" that People made the correct choice in naming her boyfriend "Sexiest Man Alive."
"Well wow, they got that right," Stefani told "Access Hollywood." "I knew I was on to something! I already had scored, but now I really scored."
Actor Hugh Jackman, a former winner as well, gave Shelton some advice on Twitter while fans congratulated the country music star.
