Shia LaBeouf's President Donald Trump protest at a livestream art project in Queens, New York, got the actor arrested early Thursday on charges of misdemeanor assault and harassment.

The troubled actor, best known for his appearances in the "Transformers" movie franchise, had been protesting Trump with members of the art installation when he was arrested after 12:30 a.m. Thursday, The New York Times reported. The 30-year-old reportedly got into an argument with another man during the interactive exhibit in front of the Museum of the Moving Image.

The New York Daily News reported that police described the incident as two groups involved in a "shouting match."

New York City detective Adam Navarro told the newspaper that LaBeouf allegedly pulled off the man's scarf, scratching his face. Navarro said the man did not need medical attention.

The arrest, which was captured on livestream video, led to LaBeouf receiving a desk appearance ticket with orders to appear in court April 4. The Times stated that LaBeouf was not jailed in the incident.

LaBeouf's protest/live performance art installation started last Friday, when Trump was inaugurated, according to the Daily News. He invited people to stand before a camera and repeat the phrase "He will not divide us." The 24-hour livestream will reportedly run through Trump's presidency.

The New York Post reported that LaBeouf was released from the 114th Precinct about 3:45 a.m. before jumping into a cab. He reportedly chanted "We will not be divided," before he left.

LaBeouf recently concluded shooting the movie "Borg/McEnroe," which chronicles the 1980 Wimbledon final between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe.

The incident is just the latest of the actor's run-ins with law enforcement. He was arrested in October 2015 in an Austin, Texas, entertainment district after ignoring police orders not to cross the street with the "Don't Walk" sign on, according to KVUE-TV.

TMZ reported in June 2014 that LaBeouf was arrested for smoking cigarettes and yelling obscenities during a Broadway production of "Cabaret." He was eventually charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct, according to the celebrity gossip site.
