A speeding driver pulled over in Ohio late New Year's Day had 48 bombs and four guns in his car, according to state police.
The driver, 43-year-old Andrew Scott Boguslawski, was subsequently charged with illegally making or possessing an explosive device.
According to the state trooper who stopped Boguslawski, who was allegedly going 85 mph in a 70-mph zone on Interstate 70 west of Columbus, the suspect said he had no weapons. However, the officer returned with a ticket and
saw the handle of a gun between the man's knees, the Associated Press reported.

"At that point, [the trooper] drew his service weapon, held the man there and called for backup," Assistant Madison County Prosecutor Nick Adkins told the AP.
In Boguslawski's portable weapons cache, authorities found two pistols, two rifles and 48 explosive devices and tools and materials to make additional explosives,
according to The Madison Press.
Police have yet to determine Boguslawski's intent with the weapons, but they have recovered a laptop, camera and GPS system from the suspect's car which they hope will reveal more about the individual. Additionally, authorities have executed a search warrant for the man’s Indiana home, The Madison Press noted.
Boguslawski himself had yet to make a statement.
"Most concerning to me was that they found a remote detonating device," said Adkins.
"The majority of the devices, I would not classify as high tech, but some of the devices were set up to be activated with the remote detonator," he added.
Boguslawski is reportedly an employee at an Indiana training facility for Navy Seals, and had schematics and other plans for the buildings, though it is unclear whether the materials were recovered from his vehicle at the time of the arrest.
According to the prosecutor's office, several agencies have already contributed to the investigation including the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ohio Fire Marshall, the federal division of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
According to Adkins, Boguslawski does not have "any real criminal history," however he says authorities are "looking for a link to any known terrorist operations and to identify the intended target."
