Sprite Cherry: New Flavor Added to Lineup Thanks to Freestyle Data

Sprite Cherry and Sprite Cherry Zero are now available as new soda flavors, and Coca-Cola knows you'll love them because they analyzed the data.

The new Sprite flavors were chosen by analyzing data from Coke Freestyle machines that offer more than 100 flavor combinations to see which were chosen most often, Fox News reported.

The Sprite Cherry and Sprite Cherry Zero drinks are available in 20-ounce bottles and will be sold at convenience stores and retail outlets, according to a news release. Both drinks offer the “cool, crisp, refreshing taste of Sprite with a splash of cherry flavor” and are “made with 100 percent natural flavors,” Coca-Cola said.

“We’re always looking for new ways to give people more choice and variety, whether it’s launching a limited-time product or a seasonal flavor, and this time, we’re excited to bring two new flavor innovations to the Sprite portfolio,” said Bobby Oliver, the director of Sprite & Citrus Brands of Coca-Cola North America, in the statement.

It is the first time the decision about what flavor to introduce as a new beverage has come from the Freestyle machines, and the flavors are a permanent addition to the brand.

Coca-Cola, the maker of Sprite, is the world’s largest beverage company and offers more than 3,800 different beverages for sale around the world. According to the news release, more than 1.9 billion servings of Coca-Cola products are served each day in over 200 countries worldwide, and the company is one of the world’s top 10 private employers.
