Donald Trump cheered on Stacey Dash who went on an Oscar-black-boycott rant on Fox News, saying "if we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET" and there shouldn't be Black History Month.

The network's cultural analysis contributor made her comments  Monday on the morning show "Fox & Friends" while weighing on  African-Americans like Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith who say they will boycott the Academy Awards for its lack of diversity in major acting categories. Dash called their protests "ludicrous," said People magazine.

"Either we want to have segregation or integration," said Dash. "And if we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the (NAACP) Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It's a double standard."

"I don't think (there should be a BET). Just like there shouldn't be a Black History Month. You know? We're Americans. Period. That's it."

Republican presidential frontrunner Trump chimed in later on "Fox & Friends," noted Deadline.com.

"I saw somebody on your show today saying, 'Well, what do we do with BET?' The whites don't get any nominations. I thought it was an amazing interview, actually. I'd never even thought about it from that standpoint," said Trump, noted Deadline.com.

BET responded to Dash's comments Wednesday, pointing out in the Twitter post that Dash appeared in the BET series "The Game."

Deadline and People noted that artists like Eminem, Macklemore, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke and Sam Smith have been nominated for BET Awards. People said Smith won the BET Awards best new artist trophy in 2015.

"Through our award shows and programming we have recognized incredible talent that simply does not get recognized elsewhere — from entertainment to politics to business to the arts," BET chairman Debra Lee said in a longer response, noted Deadline. "African American contributions to American culture are countless and we cannot and should not wait for anyone to acknowledge them — we have to do it ourselves and we are proud that we can do our part."

In December, Fox News suspended Dash for two weeks for comments she made on the Fox News show "Outnumbered," when she said President Barack Obama did not "give a sh**" about terrorism, according to Variety.
