Starbucks is looking to expand its latte offerings by testing one out that tastes like beer, although reactions online are a little mixed to the unusual flavor.
The Dark Barrel Latte is being tested in select United States locations, Grub Street reports.
The drink is supposed to taste like a dark Irish stout, although it doesn’t contain alcohol.

“It supposedly contains the dark, toasty,
malty flavors of Guinness,” Time said.
Music Times talked to some people who bought Starbucks' beer-like latte and agreed that it does taste like the “stout roasted malt flavor” and that it’s “hard to believe that there is no real beer in the cup.”
The Irish Independent, where people ought to know what good Guinness tastes like as it’s the birthplace of that stout, said the drink is made up of a dark caramel sauce along with a syrup flavored to taste like dark beers. It’s topped with cream.
Reactions to the new product were swift online, and very mixed.
The writer of the Time article asked a colleague from Dublin, Ireland, about the idea. "'American Guinness already doesn’t taste like Guinness. So what will this taste like?'" was the response he got. “Then he barfed all over me and my stupid American ignorance.”
It seems unlikely it will outsell the popular pumpkin spice latte.
