Stephen Collins, who played "7th Heaven" dad and pastor Eric Camden, has reportedly admitted to molesting and exposing himself to three underage girls, according to a leaked tape from a therapy session with his estranged wife.
Purported audio of the session was
obtained by TMZ and released on Tuesday, and the New York Police Department is said to be actively investigating the matter. The department also has a copy of the audio, and two detectives from the Special Victim's Unit reportedly flew to interview Collins' wife, actress Faye Grant, last week.
There are "at least three victims" and the investigation is focused on "inappropriate sexual conduct with minors," an NYPD official told TMZ.
Collins, 67, and Grant are in the middle of a divorce after 27 years of marriage, and the actor reportedly told his wife in 2012 that he had abused underage girls in the past. She eventually convinced him to talk about it in a therapy session, which she secretly recorded.
In the tape, Collins discusses molesting a relative of his first wife, Marjorie Weinman, in New York when the victim was just 11 years old.
"There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis," Collins said in the therapy session. Asked if he had an erection at the time, he said, "No, I mean, no. Partial, maybe I think."
Collins said he abused her again when she was 12 and 13.
He also discusses two other underage girls he molested, including one who lived in his Los Angeles neighborhood.
Collins' representative had no comment on the allegations, TMZ reported.
