Stuart Scott's ESPN Cohosts Pay Touching Tribute as He Battles Cancer

Stuart Scott, the longtime ESPN sportscaster who is battling cancer, received an emotional tribute on "Monday Night Football" from his cohosts this week before the contest between the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers.

"Scott wasn't able to be present for his usual assignment on Monday night and, in his absence, the 'Monday Night Football' crew sent him a message of support," Yahoo Sports' Jay Busbee wrote. "The group joined hands, led by an emotional Suzy Kolber, and offered up their best wishes."

Kolber led the tribute, along with fellow hosts Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, and Ray Lewis, as well as several behind-the-scenes crewmembers.

"I have the privilege of sitting in [Scott's] seat each week as he fights the fight with cancer," Kolber said, fighting back tears. "It's been seven years and Stuart is the recipient of the Jimmy V. Award for perseverance and he said in his amazing speech . . . that sometimes when you don't have the strength you need your friends to step up a little bit and helps you. So, Stuart, we want you to know we're sending you some extra strength and to keep fighting that fight."

Scott, 49, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer seven years ago, according to The Huffington Post. He was honored with the 2014 Jimmy V. Perseverance Award at the ESPYs in July.

Kolber's tribute struck a nerve with many on social media who shared her sentiments.
