Suzanne Somers is in the middle of training for "Dancing With the Stars," but it apparently hasn't slowed down her love life.
According to Yahoo News, the 68-year-old star revealed during a 2013 interview that she and her husband, 78-year-old Alan Hamel, have sex "a couple times a day." In light of this, a reporter asked her this week if it's true that sex saps the strength of athletes and, if so, would that have an effect on her dancing.
Before she could answer, Somers' dance partner, Tony Dovolani, chimed in.
"She does not miss a day," he declared. "And if they do they do it twice on weekends."
The episode was indicative of Somers' advocacy for healthy living and aging well, which has been a centerpiece of her work outside of acting — from her endorsement of the Thighmaster to the more than 15 self-help and diet books she's penned over the years.
At age 68, the "Three's Company" actress is older than all but seven of the 236 contestants who've appeared on the 20 seasons of "DWTS," but she maintains an aura of youthfulness in everything she does.
"I think it's because of all the books I've written to women," Somers said during the interview. "There's a new way to age and it's not about the number, it's about energy and vitality, and I wanted to prove to me and to them it's not over. It's definitely not over for this chick."
