Tara Reid has responded to the unprovoked diss from Elizabeth Banks in which the actress and "Pitch Perfect 2" director called out the "Sharknado" star for no apparent reason.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week, 41-year-old Banks was asked about the challenges women face finding work in Hollywood as they get older.

"There was a group of us girls coming up," Banks said. "A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn't all make it. We're not all still here."

"I do love 'Sharknado,'" she quickly added.

The unprovoked poke at Reid, 39, caught the star of the Syfy's cult favorite franchise by surprise, according to TMZ.

"I've always been a fan of [Banks'] work and that’s sad to hear she said those things about me," Reid told the celebrity gossip site, adding that she would still "smile and say, hi" to the "Hunger Games" actress if she ran into her.

Reid got her start with the 1999 hit movie "American Pie" and went on to appear in the television series "Scrubs." She has starred in two of the campy "Sharknado" movies and is currently preparing for the third, according to Us Weekly.

Reid and "90210" alum Ian Ziering both return for the third flying-sharks-in-a-tornado movie with guest appearances by Mark Cuban, Bo Derek, Rick Fox, Chris Jericho, Michele Bachmann, Jerry Springer, Ann Coulter, and Chris Kirkpatrick, according to E! News.

Banks' "Pitch Perfect 2," starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, hits theaters on May 15.

"I went through no hoops for this particular job," Banks said of preparing to be a director. "I just put myself right at the spot where someone needed to be to get the job. And I prepared. I knew I wanted to direct, so I met DPs, I ran sets, I chose music. I went through the process of directing in little ways — nothing too big or risky or time-consuming. I just started really observing."
