Tebow: Philadelphia Soul Offer Quarterback a Job in Arena Football

Free agent Tim Tebow has received an offer to play for Philadelphia's Soul arena football team, but so far he hasn't responded.

"I haven't heard back from him and I'm not going to push it," said Ron Jaworski, one of the Soul's owners. "If he decides he wants to play Arena Football, we'll make a spot for him."

The 25-year-old Heisman Trophy winner was sent a list of possible goal line players from Jaworski and Soul coach Clint Dolezel in an attempt to entice the unemployed quarterback whose options in the NFL seem nonexistent.

No National Football League team has shown any interest in offering Tebow a contract for the 2013 season, despite the numerous rumors that have circulated.

Tebow was released by the New York Jets on April 29.

"One [criticism] of Tebow is that he is slow and methodical," Jaworski said. "He would be forced to quicken it up in this league and it would be good training for him. You can learn a lot in this league. It's about processing information and getting the ball out . . . or you get whacked."

The 17 AFL teams play in an indoor arena on a field that is only 50 yards long, making for a much faster and higher-score game.

Jaworski confirmed with Philly.com that Soul's current quarterback, Dan Raudabaugh, will remain the team's starting QB.

This isn't the first offer Tebow has received from a team in the arena football league.

In March, the AFL's Orlando Predators extended an invitation to Tebow to play for the franchise.

"Tim would certainly want to first exhaust his opportunities in the NFL, but we'd love to have him," Orlando Predators owner Brett Bouchy told the Orlando Sentinel. "I think he would definitely improve as a quarterback in our league."

Tebow never responded to the offer from the Orlando Predators.
