Teresa Giudice stormed off the set of a "Real Housewives of New Jersey" reunion show on Bravo at the first mention of the reality TV celebrity's upcoming prison sentence for fraud. The question is, was it all part of the show?
The dramatic moment arrived during Part 1 of the reunion show that aired Sunday when host Andy Cohen played a clip showing family members talking about Giudice's legal problems.
According to Us Weekly, in the clip Giudice's cousins Kathy Wakile and Rosie Pierri talk with their mother, Giudice's aunt, about Teresa Giudice's prison sentence.
The conversation appeared to upset Giudice and she bolted from the stage, proclaiming, "I need a break."
A federal judge on Oct. 2 ordered Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice to serve staggered sentences on wire and mail fraud convictions, among other charges,
according to People magazine.
Teresa Giudice, a mother of four children, will begin her 15-month sentence on Jan. 5, noted the magazine. Joe Giudice will begin serving his 41-month sentence shortly after his wife is released and could face deportation at the end of his sentence, noted People.
When Teresa Giudice ran from the Barvo set and into the restroom she conveniently kept her microphone on so the audience could hear the conversation, noted US Weekly.
"I don't want to be out there for that conversation," Giudice told a staffer. "To me, family doesn't act like that. What my aunt said is very inappropriate."
Giudice eventually returned to the set, where she told Cohen, "I'm going through a lot and I needed a break."
In March, the couple entered guilty pleas in a plea agreement to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, one count of bankruptcy fraud by concealment of assets, one count of bankruptcy fraud by false oaths and one count of bankruptcy fraud by false declarations,
according to Headline News. Joe Giudice also pleaded guilty to one count of failure to file a tax return.
"Today, I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago," Teresa Giudice said through her attorney Henry Klingeman after the plea agreement in March. "I have said throughout that I respect the legal process."
