Teresa Giudice, co-star of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" who was convicted of financial fraud, hasn't been heard from much since she reported for her 15-month prison sentence in January, but this past weekend she tweeted from behind bars.
The tweet was posted under her account on Sunday, and presumably came directly from her or from a proxy representing her.
The reality TV star is currently in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut. Her husband, Joe Giudice, was also convicted and will enter prison when she finishes her stint. The sentencing judge staggered their time in the slammer so that they could care for their children, Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 9, and Audriana, 5.
Joe immigrated to the U.S. from Italy as a young child, could face an immigration hearing upon the completion of his sentence, and could be deported.
People magazine speculated that Giudice's tweet was in-part thanking those fans who participated in a call-to-action on Twitter that sought to celebrate her May 18 birthday by showing her with fan mail.
Before the latest tweet, Giudice had not been active on Twitter since December.
"I miss Joe and my girls terribly, but we are going to get through this as a family one day at a time,"
she told Us Weekly via her lawyer in April. "We will be stronger because of this. Nothing can break us apart."
