Telsa's announcement of a mystery product set for Monday was suddenly called off and rescheduled for Wednesday. It's anyone's guess what founder Elon Musk could be unveiling.

The "unexpected" announcement, originally teased on Twitter by Musk on Oct. 9, was followed up with a second tweet on Sunday revealing the delay, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The website Recode speculated that Musk could unveil either a new version of the company's at-home energy storage devices or a re-launch of Autopilot 2.0, an updated version of the company's troubled semi-autonomous driving system.

While Telsa's mysterious product announcement remained a mystery, the company did announce on its website Sunday that it entered into a non-binding letter of intent with Panasonic to collaborate on manufacturing and producing photovoltaic cells and modules in Buffalo, New York.

"Under this agreement, which is contingent upon shareholders' approval of Tesla's acquisition of SolarCity, Tesla will use the cells and modules in a solar energy system that will work seamlessly with Powerwall and Powerpack, Tesla's energy storage products," said Telsa.

Telsa said the combined efforts will allow it to "bring an integrated sustainable energy solution to residential, commercial, and grid-scale customers."

Last week, Tesla announced that it and SolarCity will hold shareholder meetings to vote on Telsa's purchase on Nov. 17.
