Actress Raven-Symone and comedian Michelle Collins may be joining ABC’s “The View” permanently as co-hosts.
The two have guest hosted the show more than a dozen times each
in recent months, E! Online reported.
During Thursday’s episode, co-host Whoopie Goldberg said: "We love saying it, but Raven and Michelle will be back tomorrow. We're trying to make it permanent, so write in to everybody."
The comment ignited rumors that have been swirling all year.
The New York Post's Page Six reported in April that ABC was “desperately trying to sign Raven-Symone as a host.”
Raven-Symone, 29, told "Entertainment Tonight" earlier this month that she was interested in joining the show.
“I would love to be a part of ‘The View’ in more capacity,” she said. “I love those ladies, I love talking about current topics, I love getting dressed up again every day and having fun with those women. I think they are very smart, they're very respectful of each other, and everyone respects each other's opinions and lets us get it out.”
The former child star rose to fame with her role on “The Cosby Show.” She also is known for her show “That’s So Raven,” and she also joined the Fox series “Empire” in February.
An unnamed source told Us Weekly that ABC considers Raven-Symone a “good fit” for the show.
"They think she's really smart but also a little kooky and so she'd be a good fit," the source said.
Raven-Symone and Collins, 33, would join actress Rosie Perez and political commentator Nicolle Wallace, who were hired as co-hosts of the show in September.
